Sand Casting: Sand casting is one of the oldest known types of casting and has its roots in metal casting. It uses different types of sand (dry sand/resin sand) to create molds and can even make large parts from ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Investment Casting: This is another very old method where a wax pattern coated with a heat-resistant material is used to create the mold. It can create smooth and complex thin-walled designs.

Plaster Casting: This process uses plaster (like drywall), water, and a reinforcing material like lime or cement to create walls with complex shapes and smooth surfaces. It is one of the more costly types and is not compatible with many materials.

Die Casting: This casting method involves feeding liquid metal into a reusable mold at high speed and pressure. Methods include gravity die casting, high and low pressure die casting, and squeeze die casting. This is one of the more precise methods and is therefore preferred by Xometry die casting customers.

Centrifugal Casting: Centrifugal casting is used to create long cylindrical parts where the molten metal is slowly placed into a rotating mold. For irregular shaped parts, water-cooled molds or pressure casting can be used.
