Precision die-casting professional manufacturer
The best part about the metalworking and fabrication industry is that there are hundreds of resources and alternatives for every need. In addition, there are methods for specific parts and shapes, including die casting, injection molding, sand casting, extrusion, etc.
While this can improve quality, sometimes you may confuse them. The comparison between aluminum casting and die casting is an example when it comes to determining the appropriate manufacturing method. Let's understand the difference between aluminum casting and die casting in detail.
Aluminum casting
The process of making aluminum casting is not difficult to understand. First, you need to heat the aluminum to extremely high temperatures. The molten aluminum is then transferred to different types of molds - the goal is to get a specific shape so that you can use it for the purpose at hand.
Note that the accurate formation of the mold is very important for the process because it directly affects the surface and final quality of the aluminum casting.
As soon as the coating process is completed, the aluminum casting immediately forms an outer layer of aluminum oxide, which ideally protects the substance from the adverse effects of corrosion.
Die casting
Aluminum die casting is a casting process that creates aluminum castings under high-pressure casting process.
In this process, the mold (also known as the casting die) is filled with high-pressure molten aluminum and left to rest. After solidification, the mold is removed after the product cools down, and the aluminum casting product is obtained and ready for use.
This process is widely used in the manufacture of aluminum-based products in many industries because it can achieve stable production in large quantities and with high precision.
Although the processes of aluminum casting and die casting are very similar, the methods of the two are different. Die casting includes sand casting, gravity casting, low-pressure casting and other casting processes. All of these casting methods involve various molds and metals such as copper, aluminum, iron and magnesium. In contrast, aluminum casting is nothing more than a casting method that uses only aluminum metal to cast aluminum products.
