Due to the wide range of applications, we use only the highest quality metals to manufacture our die castings. This ensures that our castings meet the needs and expectations of our customers. A certificate of conformity is issued with each metal delivery, along with a chemical analysis. This allows us to provide full metal traceability from melt number to finished die casting.

Tools can be manufactured with hydraulic movement on custom frames, which helps increase productivity and extend tool life. Tools can also be manufactured for tilting gravity machines, which allows for better process control and increased productivity.

Gravity Die Casting Description

Gravity die casting can also be called chill casting or permanent mold casting. Gravity casting is the process where molten metal is poured into a steel or cast iron mold where there are no forces other than gravity. After the metal solidifies, the mold is opened and the casting is removed. Because they come from a metal mold, dimensional accuracy is very good and always repeatable. Due to the higher tooling costs compared to sand casting, the minimum quantity is usually 300 pieces per year. Although gravity die casting tooling is generally suitable for lower production volumes, it can be automated to accommodate very large production volumes. The castings are used in many different fields including automotive, lighting, oil and gas, medical, electronics, and the Department of Defense. There is also a wide range of alloys available including LM6, LM9, LM16, LM25, ZA3, and ZA12.
